What is the most common cause of nephrotic syndrome in adults?

Nephrotic Syndrome is a medical condition characterized by severe proteinuria, hypoalbuminemia, edema, and hyperlipidemia. The most common cause of Nephrotic Syndrome in adults is Primary Glomerular Disease (PGD). PGD is a group of diseases that affect the glomeruli, which are small filtering units in the kidneys. These diseases are caused by inflammation and/or scarring of the glomeruli. The most common forms of PGD include Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), Membranous Glomerulonephritis (MGN), and Membranoproliferative Glomerulonephritis (MPGN). Other causes of Nephrotic Syndrome in adults include Diabetes, Amyloidosis, SLE, and certain medication side effects.
